Once in a year, the people of Central Region come together to recognize and reward personnel who are into the entertainment, creative and art industry.
This event is organized by a group of young men and women who have vowed to commit their time, energy and resources to make sure this event is organized and at the same time, the right people are selected to be awarded.
In 2011, Candymania Entertainment started with the first stepof a thousand-mile journey and now Central Music Awards is proud to be a householdname and can boast of been the first regional music award scheme in the GhanaMusic Industry.
Fast-forward, over the years of growth amidst the criticism and the praise, this year’s award is taking a different turn.

WHAT IS NEW?
Candymania Entertainment has officially and legally handed over the organization of the awards scheme to Heritage Promotions. An event house in Central Region based in Cape Coast. Their first event that took over the region was Ayesem in Cape Coast; projecting the Western and Centralmusicians to the nation and to the world.
An event that is patronized by the greatest number of music and art lovers needs to be positioned at the date that will suit all and sundry. The CMA event takes place on 26th of December every year. This day, a holiday in our Ghanaian calendar, is marked by patrons to participate fully in the event. Organizers have so far been consistent on the date and preparations are also far in motion to meet the day.
In order to satisfy the patrons who have traveled far and near to witness the great event, CENTRE FOR NATIONAL CULTURE has been chosen to serve as the event venue for the day. The auditorium that can accommodate about 500 – 1000 people has all the needed equipment to run the event successful. One can locate the CNC just after the UCC- (University of Cape Coast) first gate coming from Accra or within Cape Coast. It also be counted as the second gate when one is commuting from Takoradi.
INTRODUCTION OF THE CRYSTAL PLAQUE
For the first time in the history of Central Music Awards, a crystal plaque has been introduced and that signifies that growth is very important in any field of work. Heritage Promotions, the organizers of the award, has gone deep to bring change to the face of the awards. The plaque that comes in crystals, has a crystal ball positioned in an S- like shape standing on a long crystal with a thick base.
EASY VOTING SYSTEM
To give the chance for the music lovers, art lovers, fans and the musicians themselves to vote for their favourite artiste in any of the categories, a simple voting system has been introduced. Simply dial *713*714# and follow the prompt or visit web.speakupp.com or download the Speakupp app to cast your vote and this will surely aid your favourite artist to grab an award.
The works are many but few can be awarded or recognized as and when necessary hence the 24 categories that which includes the Life Achievement award. These categories cater for artist of the year, new artiste of the year,female vocalist, male vocalist, best blogger, best sound producer, sound engineer, gospel song, gospel artist, hiplife artiste, most popular Ghanaian song among others.
