Today is the colorful Bakatue Festival, celebrated by people of Elmina and it celebrated to remember the founding indigents of Elmina.
It is also celebrated to invoke the deity Nana Benya’s continuous protection of the state and its people.
Every year the people of Elmina or Edina celebrate their main festival called Bakatue.

After two years of not celebrating this festival, the traditional council and the people of Edina have successfully organized this year’s festival in a grand style.
Edina Bakatue started today, 5th of July , 2022 with full list of activities.
