However, the movie’s premiere, which is a serious criticism of how Ghanaian governments in time past have handled issues concerning corruption, galamsey, nepotism among a host of other non-popular activities was halted by the GTA on the grounds of the President’s move of banning cinemas, pubs and beaches as a result of the effects of Covid-19.

“The Authority wishes to clarify that a ban has not been placed on the said movie but pursuant to the directives of the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the operation of Movie houses/cinemas are suspended as part of the COVID-19 safety protocols, which are contained in the Imposition of Restrictions [Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic](No. 16) Instrument, 2020.
In his 20th address to the Nation, the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, urged that “it is important to stress that our borders, by land and sea will remain closed to human traffic until further notice. Beaches, pubs, Cinemas and nightclubs remain closed until further notice.”

In a different turn of events, Kobi Rana uses the opportunity to state his mind as he slams the GTA alleging that their boss is pursuing a personal vendetta and doesn’t want the sector to do well because he allegedly owns a cinema that has been closed.

According to Kobi Rana, this is an attempt to ensure that once the boss of GTA doesn’t benefit, none must also benefit.

In a post on his statement on his Instagram handle, he made this allegation.
“You went to intimidate them because of the MOVIE and your boss who gave that order is a part owner of that cinema at the mall… You think we don’t know? He has a problem that his cinema is closed and we are still successfully moving” he wrote.

The statement by the GTA was to clarify the misconception that the Authority had banned the movie because perhaps it is a political lampooner.
