Popular Ghanaian actress Juliet Ibrahim recently opened up about her previous abusive relationship and what she suffered in the hands of her ex-lover whom she kept his identity a secret in an interview with to Chude, a Nigerian media personality.
In the interview, the movie star told sources that in a previous relationship, her ex-lover would forcefully lock her up in the house for days and had his way with her anytime he wanted to, and went as far as repeating this act for a period of time.
The Actress refused to reveal the identity of her ex-lover and added that at a point in time, she apprehended her ex-boyfriend about his acts of rape but his reaction was that as far as they were in a relation, he could do anything he pleased.
“I told him what he did was rape but he said we were in a relationship. But was I ready? That was the question. Did I say I was in the mood?
“I kept saying no, ‘stop it, stop it. You pin me down and you’re doing whatever you wanted to do. You’re smiling saying, ‘don’t worry’, and you’re kissing whilst I’m crying, that means you’re a rapist and I had to leave that relationship.” She added.
The actress said she ‘‘fought her way out of that relationship’’ narrating that her sister Sonia came to her rescue.
Explaining further about her ordeal she said, “Everyday, he wanted to do something and that’s rape.”
In her final words of the interview, the actress advised that should report men who abused them in their relationships whether or not they are in one.
