- Central Region To Host 2022 edition of National Festival of Arts & Culture
Central Region is set to host the 2022 edition and 60th anniversary celebration of National Festival of Arts & Culture.
The annual event is organized by the National Commission on Culture under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism Arts and Culture.
In collaboration with the Central Regional Coordinating Council, the 60th anniversary celebration of NAFAC is scheduled for December 2022 in Cape Coast.
This is an event that brings together all the 16 regions of Ghana under one umbrella to showcase their distinct Culture and Tourism potential for socio- economic development of the Country.
The theme for this year’s National Festival of Arts and Culture is: Reviving patriotism, peace and unity through Cultural diversity for sustainable development.
Among the dignitaries that would be present are: The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo, The Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Awal,The Executive Director of the National Commission on Culture, Madam Janet Edna Nyame, Central Regional Minister, Hon. Justina Marigold Assan: the host for this great event, President of the Central Regional House of Chiefs, Odeefuo Amoakwa Boadu VIII, Omanhen of Oguaa Traditional Area, Osaberima Kwesi Atta II and The Regional Director of the Centre for National Culture, Madam Dorcas Salamatu Alhassan.
Venues for the event would be in two places: Adisadel school park and CNC- Cape Coast.
Activities include: Arts and Craft exhibition, Exhibition of Traditional cuisines, Masqueraders festival, Colloquium, Highlife Performances, Theatre night, Miss NAFAC Awards night and many more.
All are encouraged to participate in this grand Arts and Cultural Festival. Long live Central Region.
